Packing list for a river cruiseOff on a river cruise?  Don’t believe that you have to take a different outfit for every day and another different outfit for every night.  You can wear the same thing more than once.  If you plan to mix and match, you can make many outfits.

Here’s what I packed for a six-day adventure in Europe – starting with a workout in London, then travelling to Budapest to join a cruise up the Danube to Passau.  I will be posting about the cruise in a future article.

Packing List

  • glasses
  • makeup (mascara, blush, eyeshadow, eye pencil, three brushes, lipstick)

All the above fitted into my small Aerolite carry-on bag packed in Eagle Creek packing cubes.  In my satchel, I had the iPad.  I didn’t take any paper books intending to read books on the iPad, but I did pick up a book in the ship’s library.  I deliberately didn’t take a raincoat or an umbrella.  The ship had umbrellas for passengers to use and I checked the weather before I left home to be sure it wouldn’t be too cold.

The key to travelling light is to ensure that everything goes with everything else.  That way, you can get by with only a carry-on and never have to check luggage again.
